Branka Benčić (Zagreb), independent curator and art critic (Styria-Artist-in-Residence fellow 2015) traces in her lecture “Double Exposure – A Collision of Past and Present” the fields of interest of the artist Jelena Jureša, that are based on questions of cultural identity, memory, history, and the photograph’s boundaries of representation. Origin and development of „MIRA, Study for a Portrait“, previous presentations of the work, and its transfer into the format of an artist book (Fotohof 2014), which will be presented in public for the very first time that evening, will be also part of the discussion. For this occasion, Rainer Iglar and Michael Mauracher of Galerie Fotohof will be present.
